  1. :welcome: Start here... DIY Tutorial 996TT Oil Change
  2. Item #8 is the tensioning pulley If your car is a Tiptronic then -- 996 102 117 57 -- US MSRP $104.26 If your car is a 6-speed then -- 997 102 117 00 -- US MSRP $104.26
  3. These smoke machines are not a DIY project - a real cost about $1000 retail. I would think a good shop should charge you an hour or so labor -- and they should find the leak.
  4. You need to find a shop with a smoke machine. Most good shops have them.
  5. Please try a search - I have covered that here before (at least a couple of times).
  6. That cover is on a hinge pin so there is no real adjustment. Perhaps someone bent it trying to remove it (improperly). You might be able to carefully bend it back. If not then I am pretty sure you would need to remove the glove box to remove the cover hinge pin and take it off to bend/fix.
  7. Closed - if the OP still has questions they can open a new topic.
  8. Well.. if the pulley comes off and damages the engine case - a replacement Porsche engine (no exchange due to case damage) is about $46,830 (without installation). I'm pretty sure the Mustang would be less than that. Point is do you really want to risk that?
  9. I sent you a PM and... you will need some special tools (as outlined in the manual pages).
  10. Start by trying a complete re-training. That is, hold the button to lower the window and then continue to hold it 10 seconds longer - do the same as you raise the window. Test the window for one-touch operation. If you are still having problems then you likely have a worn or damaged regulator (cable). There is an adjustment for how the window will go but if this was lost all of a sudden it is most likely a regulator issue.
  11. What version of Durametric are you running?
  12. Do the seats otherwise work (movement)? If so, then it is a "forgotten" program issue and you will need a shop to re-program. Likely re-program both the seats and the front end controllers. I am afraid that is a know issue on the early 997-1 cars.
  13. :welcome: Sorry, neither one of those will do a vehicle handover - but I am not sure you need that either. Have you checked the fuses for seat heats and lights? If it turns out you do need a re-program then you will need to find a shop with a Porsche PST2, PIWIS, or PIWIS 2 tester as they are the only ones that have the factory re-programming code.
  14. I can not speak for Contributing Member creekman (he has done the LS swap) but I think he would say he could have bought a Turbo for what the swap has cost him.
  15. Use a mechanics hook to reach up and grab the cable - then you hardly have to move the wheel liner.
  16. :welcome: If you look at page 257 in your Owners manual (Emergency unlocking of the luggage compartment lid) you will find some useful information. If you do not have an owners manual you can download one here
  17. Sorry, not sure I understand... is loose? or do you want to try and minimize the gap?
  18. Porsche book time on the transmission removal is 770 TU (or just under 8 hours). There are special tools needed (see images below - click to enlarge) I personally would not try this without access to a hoist, engine support stands, and transmission lift.
  19. Ok.... found it now. Sorry for the confusion. MY2009 and older use the procedure I am sending you in a PM.
  20. Do you have some fault codes you can share as there are many "control units" in the Cayenne?
