  1. :welcome: The CDR-23 should not have any issues when the battery is disconnected. Although it is matched to the car it is rare to see one that is not. Possibilities that I can think of are: someone changed out the radio and the new radio needs to be matched to the car, a fiber optic (MOST) cable has become disconnected and the radio can not communicate with the rest of the system, or there is a bad amp. Diagnosis would be a lot easier if you have access to a Porsche specific diagnostic tool like Durametric software, a Porsche PIWIS tester, or Porsche PIWIS 2 tester. Without one of these tools it becomes an expensive guessing game.
  2. Both SirTools and PlusQuip (or Steelman) sell compatible tools. SirTools PlusQuip or Steelman
  3. There might be a later TSB that is not yet available from Porsche Docs site. I doubt there is any difference - still a lot of work.
  4. I do not think you can light the originals as there is a translucent material over the cut out as well as LED mountings on the backside. There is a 21 page (yes 21 pages) TSB just on installing them.
  5. '05 C2S and both radiator fans are not working. I assume that the control unit for the fans is the one mounted next to the right side radiator fan in the wheel well, not the front control unit in the right side of the luggage compartment. Where exactly is the 80A fuse? Thanks for your help! The 80A Cooling fans fuse is in the luggage compartment - right side. (click to enlarge) Fan control unit location 3dM (lick to enlarge)
  6. Item 29 is an H-shaped license bracket (as shown in the diagram) or the plastic holder you have shown - I have seen both. Here is the same info for the rear licence... rear licence.pdf
  7. Did you check it with an ohm meter out of the circuit? Those two codes are pretty specific to no injector power.
  8. See PDF parts list below. For a US/Canada car you will want items 27, 29, 30, 24,25,and 26. license plate parts.pdf
  9. Works fine for me - there is a PDF to download when you get to the DIY.
  10. I would at least take the battery out and have it load tested - and get specific gravity readings for each cell. That will tell you if the battery is bad or good enough to take a charge.
  11. PLEASE read and follow the instructions in the Lost Radio Code FAQ
  12. Best to return the battery since it is new - replacement should be under warranty.
  13. For a USA MY02 C2 manual Cab to ROW suspension: KIt: 000 044 500 35 Reftrofit kit 30 mm lower If you can not find the kit Carnewal.com likely still has the parts (tell Gert you are from RennTech.org)
  14. Those buttons are actually on the airbag assembly. You might try a salvage yard (but matching the options and color may be a challenge) or get the whole steering wheel assembly. US MSRP on a new airbag assembly is $600 to $1000.
  15. The need straight up (12 o'clock position) is perfectly normal.
  16. Yes. There are two horns for traffic located behind the front bumper. And there is an alarm horn located near the battery (in the front trunk) - this is the one that sounds when an alarm zone is open or failed.
  17. :welcome: You have two separate problems. 1. If your horn does not sound when pressing the airbag edges then you may have a blown fuse (B3) or two bad horns. Yes, two bad horns happens. They are not very good horns. 2. The horn you hear when locking the car means that you have an alarm fault - a zone is open. (There is no option on the 996 for a horn beep when locking.)
