  1. The number one cause of "strange electrical problems" in Cayenne is a bad battery. Check to see if your Cayenne has the optional second battery - both batteries should be both load tested (out of the car) and have their specific gravity (of each cell) tested. Once you have a know good battery situation - then re-run the diagnostics tests using a Porsche tool (PST2, PIWIS, or PIWIS 2) or Durametric software. Only these diagnostics will give you reliable diagnostic data on Porsche cars.

  4. Yes, on the cabriolet you remove the visor mount screws - then the rest comes off the same.
  5. Please re-read the Guidelines/Rules that you agreed to when you registered here "No bumping. Do not bump posts. Bumping a post to "the top" does not help your topic get noticed. The volunteers who try to answer questions look for those without replies first - bumping defeats this. Bumped posts will be removed." I have also moved this to the proper forum for this model car.
  6. It looks like someone removed the PSE and did not properly shutoff the vacuum line(s). As RFM said those should be properly plugged to prevent vacuum leaks (and fault codes).
  7. No, only Porsche Sport Exhaust (PSE) on and off by the electrical solenoid switching the vacuum valves on each muffler.
  8. That looks like it may be part of the sport exhaust system. If so, then one side should go tot he intake (for vacuum) and the other side should go to a "Y" connector that splits into two lines - one to each vacuum controlled valve on each muffler (one on each side).

  10. The model needs to match models that were used in your model car. In that case it is plug 'n play. If not, then you need to tell us the model and year of your car and which sound system you have. Plus the model of the CD changer that you bought.
  11. :welcome: The correct offset for a 986 Boxster with those wheel sizes is: 9 x 18 offset 52 mm 8 x 18 offset 50 mm
  12. Drive cycles are required to reset the light.
  13. No they have not been superseded in my list (January 2015) - they are 996 numbers. 997 series cars would have PCM 3 and you have PCM 2.1 - they are very different.
  14. Start by making sure everything is plugged in and the connections are good.
  15. They are just called cover in the parts list. You will find them in the parts list section for the underbody and wheel well liners.
  16. :welcome: Perhaps you mean 996 647 124 00 which is the control unit for the two diversity (one on the left and one on the right) antennas? That control module sits under the dash at the top right but under the dash. Orange arrow is the control unit and green arrows are the two antennas. (click to enlarge)
