  4. That is how Porsche labels them on the wiring diagram. In Porsche terminology the following is true on all Porsche cars: Terminal 31 = ground Terminal 30 = unswitched power Terminal 15 = switched power
  5. Ignition coils are easy to test (how they look is not really relevant). Resistance between terminal 1 and terminal 15 at 20° C should be 0.3 - 0.7 Ohms.
  6. Yes, the CDR-23 radios are programmed and recognized by the car’s DME and can only be replaced by a shop with a PST2 or PIWIS.
  7. Sorry, that is not a valid serial number (of the radio). Please use the Lost Radio Code FAQ to get the procedure to get the correct serial number - then re-post here.
  8. Looks like someone did not read the Lost Radio Code FAQ "CDR-23 (or later): These radios do not have a security code - that is, not that the user enters. These radios are security tested on the MOST (fiber optic bus) system to see if they are the "programmed" radio. The radios are programmed and recognized by the car’s DME and can only be replaced by a shop with a PST2 or PIWIS. These radios will not request a code when battery power is disconnected."

  11. If your O2 sensors were causing the problem is would show up as a fault or as poor O2 sensor waveforms. Best to put a Porsche PIWIS tester on the car and monitor it.
  12. I do not see that part number is Porsche's parts system. I do see 3 batteries that are approved for use in your car. 999 611 070 20 -- an 70 AH battery 999 611 080 20 -- an 80 AH battery 999 611 095 20 -- an 95 AH battery
  13. Not likely - cost and time - then you end up with a hybrid car that could be hard to sell. I think trading up would be my choice.
  14. I will be collecting this cowl part from my local porshe dismantler. I did have a question though. Isn't there a difference in the cowl part? my understanding is that some cowls are for the cars with antenna and navigation and some cowls are for non navigation cars. There is a metal underplate for the antenna on some cowls. Anyone know anything about this? thanks. Not true - there is one part number for for all 997-1 models regardless of options. All the NAV antennas sit below the cowl piece.
  15. Yes, always replace rotors in pairs (along the axle). Failure to do so could cause the car to pull to one side under heavy braking. No, again I see no reason to replace lug bolts unless the threads damaged or the socket sides stripped.
