  1. Did you check camshaft rotor for damage.
  2. 1. Sounds like the switch is either misaligned or bad. You will need to remove the center console to repair. 2. Replace the back-up light switch. 3. If this continues to happen then you likely have a bad coolant tank level sensor. It is on the bottom (outside) of the tank. 4. Check to see if the window sticks when opened or closed fully. If it does then you need to clean the window and seals at the base first. If there is no sticking then you likely have a bad microswitch in the door. If that is the case then you will need to remove the inside door panel as the switch is located in the door handle release.
  3. The correct cables are specific to the options on the car. We will need to know C2 or C4 and what other options on the car (i.e. PCM/Radio, CD-Changer, AMP, Telephone).
  4. Yes PCM and with or without air conditioning are part of MOST programming. And you may need to set the MOST switch to "open" (per step 29 of the programming.
  5. Perhaps you mean your car is a 2001 - since the 996 was not manufactured after 2005?

  7. Most of the dash (other than the instrument cluster) is the same for both 986 and 996 - so yes, it should be the same.
  8. If the dealer is stumped and that is a "paid for option" then Porsche should step in - at no charge to you.
  9. Unless the interior sensors (up near the rearview mirror) are bad you should get an alarm. Though I know there were some early Boxsters that came without full alarm systems - just door locks. Any good Porsche shop should be able to check the car in 15 minutes or less with either Durametric or Porsche PIWIS testers.
  10. Are there any beeps when locking? Two beeps designate an alarm fault that requires repair. One beep means there is (at least) one zone open. Either way it is best to run a diagnostic tool like Durametric or Porsche PIWIS on the car to verify the issue.
  11. In many cases the radio was changed out due to faulty buttons and other faults. Unfortunately the dealer/OPC failed to update their records or the cars security codes. Fairly common actually.
  12. You need to run diagnostics tests to get the correct fault location. You will need a Porsche PIWIS tester or at least a Durametric tester to track this down.
