  1. 6291078 = 3 liter, 179 HP, type 930.04 engine - manufactured in 1979. If it is the original 5-speed transmission then it should be a 915.61 - 5-speed gear box. 915.61 was used in 1977, 1978 and 1979 (for USA and Canada). If it is a Sportomatic then it is likely a 925.16.
  2. Yes, I live outside of Sacramento the capital of California. It will be on one side (in the rear fender well) - it's not long enough to be anywhere else.
  3. There is a manual cable release - usually found behind wheel well liner near right left tail light. Any chance the control box under the left seat got wet?
  4. You will need the proper tools to remove the fill plug - as well you will need a digital thermometer to check the transmission is heated to the proper temperature before filling.
  5. Sorry, you can no longer download them here. Porsche has requested that all Porsche copyrighted material be removed from this site.
  6. Try locking and unlocking the car manually with the metal key. Then try the remote again.
  7. Are you sure the pads are bad and just the pad sensor(s). Further inspection and testing (of the sensors) is needed.
  8. "Can you give me a code for my PCM?These units are manufactured jointly by Siemens and Becker, and the only place where you can get the codes required is from the dealer/OPC. The PCM’s require two codes, the ICS/Siemens code and a Becker code. The ICS is the first code requested.Sorry, the only place you can get a PCM code is from a dealer/OPC."
  9. Hmm... for that model year the seat color options included Sand Beige. None of the other colors are tan/beige.
  10. Sorry, not that I know of.
  11. As stated in the Lost Radio Code FAQ (which you apparently did not read)...
  12. "The warning light lights up if the coolant temperature is too high. The warning light also flashes if the coolant level is too low or the engine-compartment blower is not functioning." Check the coolant level and also the radiator fans to make sure they are working.
  13. "Depending on specification and air-conditioning zones, the Cayenne is fitted with a battery having a capacity of 340 A/70 Ah to 450 A/95 Ah. As on the Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo, the alternator is water-cooled and has a nominal output of 2100/2660 watts, depending on battery capacity. All Cayenne models can optionally be equipped with a backup battery (starter battery). This backup battery ensures that the vehicle can still be started even if the vehicle battery (main battery) is discharged. The capacity of the backup battery is 480 A/85 Ah. If two batteries are fitted to the vehicle (main battery and backup battery), these are connected or disconnected to the bus bar in the power distributor through a relay. The switching of the two batteries is controlled independent of the load management (function is integrated in the vehicle electrical system control unit). The starter relay of the 2nd battery is actuated parallel to the starter relay. That means for every start the starter is supplied from both batteries. The backup battery is disconnected from the vehicle electrical system when the engine is switched off and then supplies just one consumer, the vehicle electrical system control unit."
