  1. Right above your post... Sunset Porsche - 35 to 40 % off for OEM parts.
  2. Maybe because it appears to be emissions related.
  3. Have put a Durametric or other scan tool to see if you have fault codes? If so, please post them here.
  4. I would address the faults that come back first. If the misfire faults come back I would replace plugs and coils since you don't know when they were replaced. Then clear the codes and see if the camshaft issue is still there.
  5. That engine serial number is from an engine built in 1976. Type 911.81 HP 165 Liters 2.7
  6. Sometimes when the headlights are removed from the body of the car (usually to change bulbs) the headlight are slammed back into the body to get the latches to catch. This can do damage to plug and sockets on the car and headlight. Both should be inspected for damage. Likewise, the sockets on the car can have the pins pushed out of the sockets by the same actions. Check these first.
  7. Folks - you will need a Porsche specific tester to identify these sorts of faults. The displayed message could be caused by several different faults in the system.
  8. 34 mm front -- minimum front 33.6 mm 28 mm rear -- minimum rear 27.6 mm for steel brakes (all are the same according to the service manual).
  9. You might be over-reacting. I would try it a few more days and see if it continues to not come on at startup. Then start digging into the problem.
  10. It is a 19-year-old car with 97,000 miles. If proper service has not been done then I think you are looking at changing all the fluids, plugs and coil packs. Checking wear on suspension components and wheel bearings. Tire are obvious as well as damage to wheels. I personally would not touch a small drip from the RMS - too many times changing it can turn out worse. As you might know, I also own an MY 1999 Carrera with factory aerokit - it has 23,000 miles. And it will be very likely FOR SALE soon.
  11. Clear the codes and drive the car again and see what comes back.
  12. Always check the fuse first. If the fuse tests good then put Durametric on it. I believe you can run it manually from Durametric - so try that too.
  13. Item 4 is an M12 nut so it is 63 ft-lb. Item 3 has no given size but it will be either M8 or M10 - so use the appropriate torque setting.
  14. Correct no change to tank calibration amounts. You empty the gas tank - then add 12 liters and use a PST2 or PIWIS to run the calibration.
  15. I have moved your post to the Boxster Top Issues and Solutions forum - do a search there as someone has likely had your issue before.
