  1. Your dealer is right. Perhaps this from TSB 9/99 2015 Carrera 4 – Running Out of Fuel (dated 10-14-99) will help.
  2. I sent you the install TSB. Here is a link to the switch wiring change.
  3. In order (IMHO): 4 (to be safe yes) 4 4 4 (depends on whether you do the door pieces -- door pieces 7) 1
  4. 996 106 147 56 (as of October 31, 2003)
  5. Here is a link to where the parts lists are. Be sure and choose the specific equipment you have now to get the correct part numbers. This depends on your skill/tools. Either way the dealer will have to activate (turn on) the CD- Changer with their PST2. If you live in the SF bay area Jeff and I can help you install it. Get your part numbers and shop around. I would suggest Carnewal.com or SunCoast Porsche in Florida or Sunset Porsche in Oregon. See the listing in the linked post.
  6. Doug, Do you already have the electronics installed and you just want the switch? Or do you want to install the whole thing?
  7. The Carrera TSB (5/00 4078 Loose Stabilizer Bar Connection - dated 9-1-01) does not state the torque just that they need to be re-torqued to factory specs. There is not a GT3 TSB for swaybars (at this point in time). Front Stabilizer mount on stabilizer (M10) -- 34 ft-lbs. Rear Stabilizer mount to stabilizer and spring strut (M10) -- 34 ft-lbs., GT3 -- 48 ft-lbs. Rear Stabilizer to carrier side section (M8) -- 17 ft-lbs. Edit - added second torque setting for GT3 only.
  8. Please remember that the AllData/etc. TSBs are from PCNA and may differ slightly for RoW applications. You've got mail...
  9. Well.... I drove Mike's (mds) GT3 a few days ago and I'll have to admit I am tempted. But... I am also tempted to buy a Cupcar... so chances are I'll wait until I feel strongly enough to pull the trigger on one or the other.
  10. Yes, just open the bleed valve on top of the coolant tank. You can drive around with it that way and it will help purge air out of the system. Just check the level every few days and add coolant/water until it stops going down. Then close the bleed valve.
  11. Yes, that is very abnormal. It turns out that Cayenne suspension does some settling and needs to be re-aligned after about 120 miles. I would see your dealer and request a re-alignment to the new specs laid out in TSB 4495 (and a couple new tires!).
  12. Porsche recommends only: 999 917 547 00 Esso ATF LT 71141 – 20 liter container (an ATF change is only 3.5 liters) with this warning Draining, changing the filter and refilling, warming up and topping off are all required with an ATF change. I'll send you an email and you can see if this is something you want to tackle.
  13. I guess you are talking about the "snorkle" that brings in cool air to the air cleaner. There are two piece to this - the top most piece (sealing bellows) that seals against the engine deck lid (bonnet) and the longer plastic tube. The bellows can be ordered and the longer plastic tube is part of the lower air cleaner assembly and does not have a separate part number (you would need to by a whole new air cleaner assembly). If the crack is not too big I would not worry about it. JMHO
  14. Yes that one is for a creaking noise in the bell housing (behind you) and there is another one for creaking noises at the pedal. I'll send both.
  15. What year car? The MY02 and new is more complex because of design changes.
  16. Since you say they are black then you must have a pre MY02 car. They changed the bumperettes and the mounting slightly in MY02 on. For MY01 and older the bumperettes bolt to two buffer reinforcements (14) that are supposed give (i.e. bend or break) before the bumper/chassis takes the blow. Removing the bumperettes is fairly easy (10 and 11) with an 8 mm long allen socket. However you may not be able to see enough of the buffer bars (14) to see if they are damaged without removing the bumper.
  17. IMHO that is a good price... providing the 3rd party (which I am pretty sure is not Porsche) is still in business for the full 4 years. A;so, rad the details and make sure more than just major failures are covered and what the deductable is.
  18. This the only one I see for oil leaks at the rear of the engine. TSB 11/99 1001 Oil Leaks/Engine Bolts (dated 2-9-2000)
  19. From the Porsche TSB on "Approved Oils"
  20. For the GT3/Aerokit Cup front bumper: 996 505 980 03 G2X (unpainted) The spoiler lip is: 996 505 986 00 (unpainted) and you will need 11 plastic rivets to attach the spoiler lip 999 507 427 40.
  21. We just did one for about $100 2 weekends ago.
  22. If you registered (joined the board) from November 19th through today the registration process did not record your Location. Please go to My Controls and then select Edit Profile info and update your Location. Please do not re-register as the problem has been fixed. Sorry for the inconvenience.
  23. Basically, no. I sent you a PM explaining. No, not at initial release. Paper copies are current and once a year they release a book and/or CD. You can buy the book/CD at My-Porsche.com. Yes and No. Yes, there are copyright issues which is why they won't be copied.
  24. Correct. A PST2 is around $10,000 (unless you get a dealer/special discount - down to $8000). Yearly software updates are $2500/per year and certain changes still require a phone call to PCNA to get permission and unlock codes.
