  1. 000.044.500.36 is Row X74 for C4 (not C4S). C4S has Turbo running gear.
  2. For a MY02 C4S: 000.044.500.38 RoW Sport type running gear (20 mm lower than stock) - remember C4S is already 10 mm lower and technically it is only recommended for MY03 and newer C4S.
  3. If it were just the headlights and fog lights - I would look at the headlight switch. With the AC blower too makes me think ignition switch. Try jiggling the ignition switch and see if it makes any difference.
  4. You can not get the Navigation CDs from Porsche. In the US you get them from NAVTECH. See the post here.
  5. On the all cars the cars I have tried it on - you do it as follows: Press and hold the recirculation button. Then press the temperature up ("+") button to switch between degrees Celsius & Fahrenheit on the Climate Control Temperature and Instrument Panel Outside Temperature displays. Note: There are two + keys make sure you press the one under the temperature readout - while holding the recirculate button down. If that does not work then perhaps something changed in MY04 and you may need a PST2 - if that is the case where are you located (since I have a PST2)?
  6. WKD 996 221 99 Owners Manual (MY99) -- retail $36.91 (as of January 2006) Check out Sunset Imports (Porsche Parts at Dealer Cost) as the last one I bought from them was about $18
  7. The OBDII manual says: "- EVAP canister purge valve open - Pressure sensor faulty" The valve is back on the engine - the pressure sensor is back near the engine too.
  8. Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad we know what will fix that fault - now.
  9. That is where it is. You may need a strong light to see the stamping. Depending on the state/country you live in it may be on your vehicle registration too.
  10. Since Porsche specifies exact tire sizes in the owners manuals and in a yearly published TSB I doubt it is written down anywhere. The ABS system is reading the speed sensors on each wheel hub so if the system senses enough difference it could trigger too early or too late or even shut down ABS with an error. I would call the tech guys at Tire Rack or Wheel Enhancement and see what they say about a 2.7% difference.
  11. No TT tailpipes won't fit a Carrera (C2, C4, or C4S) . Different engines, different exhaust system. The C4S exhaust exits the muffler at the top and bends down (almost 90 degrees) to the bumper opening. The TT exhaust comes straight out the of the muffler (no bends at all).
  12. Take a look at my posting. The dealer used the same "bad gas" excuse on me as "thelion" mentioned in his January 9 reply to you. A number of people are having this problem and since no service codes are triggered Porsche says there is nothing wrong with the car. Clearly a car that sputters has something wrong with it. See my post here.
  13. Well, at this point I would say it is either the MAF or the DME program...
  14. 996.343.069.03 Left stabilizer mounting -- retail $41.38 (as of Jan 2006) 996.343.070.03 Right stabilizer mounting -- retail $41.38 (as of Jan 2006) 999.084.445.09 Hex Nut (bar side) -- retail $1.21 (as of Jan 2006) 999.084.643.09 Hex Nut (chassis side) -- retail $1.19 (as of Jan 2006)
  15. I just received the Durametric software and cable. I've barely had time to look at it yet. At this time it looks like -- code identification and reset for DME, Air Bag, ABS, Alarm, AC, and Seat Memory -- no PST2/PIWIS functions beyond that. I know they plan on more and I will try to get details as I progress in my review of the product. I plan to try it on 986 and 996 with DME 5.2.2, DME 7.2, and DME 7.8. The latest US version of software for the PST2 is version 24 and it does include CGT but not 987 or 997. Stay tuned as we have heard that Europe has version 27.
  16. Your car is a MY99 C4? Hmm... If that is what you car is it should not have a P1123. What is your MY and model? What did you use to get the code? P1123 - Oxygen Sensing Adaptation Area 1 (Cylinders 1 - 3) - Lean Threshold Which means that side is running too RICH not too lean. "Lean threshold" means the DME can not lean the mixture enough.
  17. Well there is trunk light on the left side or the battery right in the center or the CD changer (if you have one). Pick your location for the GPS logger.
  18. I asked around with some folks here (shop foreman and independents) and they say that the NW US has had a lot of contaminated gas for several months now. Here is a suggestion... Buy some Shell premium gas then add a can of HEET Gas-Line Antifreeze and Water Remover. The HEET will remove most if not all of water in the gas tank. You should be able to find HEET at Autozone, Pep Boys, Kmart, etc., etc. What have you got to lose?
  19. Hmm... intermittent wipers were standard on US cars (this is a US car right?). All of the service manual docs give the intermittent relay location as position 16 on the relay support 1 (the one in the lower left footwell). On my car it is blue and taller than most of the other relays. The part number is on the side.
  20. The springs are not different betwen a US and RoW Cayman with PASM.
