  1. Yes, they should as long as the model types are the same (i.e. C2-C2, C4-C4, C4S-C4S).
  2. I do the same and I don't recall it ever removing the orange square when using the browser back button. You would need to reload (refresh) the View New Posts page for that to happen. I always just click on View New Posts again and it shows me (with orange squares) the unread posts.
  3. Replacement door handles (in leather) run about $375 US.
  4. 900.219.009.30 engine drain plug -- MSRP $3.10 (as of June 2006) 900.123.106.30 sealing ring -- MSRP $0.37 The parts list does not show either plug (fill or drain) on a 6 speed transmission. 900.124.025.02 front axle drain plug -- MSRP $4.90
  5. Could be... try wiggling it and see if there is any change.
  6. Open the window slightly and see if the whistle stays or disappears. Some other common causes of this type of noise have been a mis-aligned front trunk lid and misaligned gas flap.
  7. They can only be reset with a PST2 or PIWIS tester. 33 - no passenger compartment monitoring -- Replace passenger compartment monitoring sensor. 60 - central locking limit position locked not reached -- Possible cause of fault - Central locking switch faulty - Short circuit to ground/open circuit in wiring between the alarm system control module, central locking switch or door locks - Driver's/passenger's door lock faulty - Control module faulty Most of the troubleshooting tests for fault 60 require more alarm tests using a PST2 or PIWIS tester. I would not replace that fault 33 passenger compartment monitoring sensor until the tests are run as you could have a bad control module.
  8. US or RoW car please? Do all the other lights work okay? i.e. headlights etc. Any other strange electronic problems?
  9. 996 612 978 00 is the just wiring for the PSE switch (not the rest of the PSE).
  10. If it were just the lights I would say light switch - but the other items make me think it is the ignition switch.
  11. All except 996 612 978 00 are for MY02-04 996. 996 612 978 00 will fit MY98-04.
  12. The seat harness(es) all have connectors that can be unpluged. Some are almost puzzle like but they all come apart so you can remove the seat and inspect everything. If the wire itself is not damaged then taping should work fine. I would also put a tie wrap on the wire so it stays out of harms way.
  13. Worth a look. You will need an E12 (external torx) socket to remove the seat. Be sure to disconnect the battery and remove the key from the ignition before removing the seat - otherwise you will get an airbag light.
  14. So you are talking about E3 a 30 amp fuse? If so, the seat is the only thing on that fuse.
  15. 1. Sport suspension came on all C4S - US and RoW. 2. X73 is only recommended for MY03 and newer. I've seen for about $2500 plus installation. 3. I do not know if it has the proper emission vents/returns for the US. You are talking about US? 4. Perhaps someone else can answer that one...
  16. It is hard to miss. The ICV is a solenoid just on the left of the throttle body. It is held on by two allen head screws and has a delicate paper gasket (don't lose or damage the gasket) between the solenoid and the throttle body. Cleaning works sometimes - but if it is too gummed up then it will need to be replaced.
  17. There was a TSB in 1999 that describes an inner door lock release problem. Does the door release work from the inside (when pulling on the handle twice with the doors locked)?
  18. In the US if it is a formal government recall (as opposed to a Porsche Workshop Campaign) then it shows up on the US government recall website (here).
  19. Yes, and the DME changed from 5.2.2 to 7.2 in MY2000 (mainly for egas) and to 7.8 in MY03. The MY03 and new cars also support more controller-to-controller communication (i.e. new style instrument cluster, etc.) via CAN as of MY03.
  20. Sorry, I don't find anything in the 1988 service manual. Over the years the logos have pretty much been centered similar to above.
  21. Those part numbers are the GT2 turbos. They are much less than US MSRP. The US MSRP for each is $3022.65. As with anything on eBay - Let the buyer beware.
  22. From the service manual (programming with a PST2): "The adjustment function of the seat, mirror and lumbar positions via the hand-held transmitter is correct only if the radio code and the transponder code of a hand-held transmitter are each stored at the same position in the alarm system control module. In this case, it is first necessary to identify and delete the stored transponder code of the lost or faulty hand-held transmitter. All remaining vehicle keys are required for this purpose because all transponder codes are erased during the deletion function. The transponder code of the vehicle key is displayed under 'Current transponder'. Press the F3 key. "All codes will be deleted" appears on the screen; confirm with the F7 key. Insert the vehicle key equipped with the new hand-held transmitter into the ignition lock and switch on the ignition. Establish communication between the 9588 Porsche System Tester II and the control module. Select the position (1, 2, 3,or 4) with the arrow keys (uparrow) and (down arrow) and press the F8 key. The transponder code of the first hand-held transmitter has now been taught. Remove the key and repeat the process for the remaining hand-held transmitters......"
  23. One end of the fuel filter has a special compression fitting. The other end the hose is permanently attached and has a similar connection point further down the hose. When you replace the fuel filter it comes with a new short hose on it.
