  1. With all due respect to people's "theories" - I would like to see some documentation from Porsche.
  2. If it is a model 99 and Porsche ever changed out the engine - then it is a 3.4 liter. Changing to a 3.6 requires several wiring changes and you must also change the DME. I doubt someone went to all that trouble. The accordion outlet pipe style was also used on the factory Porsche Sport Exhaust - so it does not mean you have a 3.6 liter engine. Any 3.4 liter can use 3.6 liter mufflers -- but not the other way around (i.e. a 3.6 can not use 3.4 mufflers). So, if you car has accordion outlet pipes then either it has a PSE or has a 3.6 muffler.
  3. Hmm... I have seen at least one DME where the connector was not tight and the connector was at best half-on. So, let's hope that was it.

Oxygen sensor heating not functioning. – Wiring harness – Oxygen sensor – DME control module Without seeing your O2 sensor voltages (before and after) it would appear that you have a wiring/connector problem at the sensor(s). If the wiring looks and tests ok - then I would replace the O2 sensor before the cat first - clear the codes and see if the after cat O2 sensor r a code again.

  6. 986 and 996 only have range 1 and 2.
  7. Usually that means the connection is open - not connected. Like someone remove the steering wheel and forgot to hook it back up - or broke the clock spring on the steering wheel connection. Best take the steering wheel off and have a look -- with the battery disconnected and the key OUT of the ignition.
  8. Try 6608 or 6606
  9. I would ask your alignment shop. I think you likely have -1.5 to almost -2.0 max with stock. See what they think the max on your car as stock is. You likely should by a couple sets.
  10. Stage 2 over revs mean that the rev limiter could not control the over rev (bad). Usually stage 2 over revs come from missed down shifts or spinning the car (backwards) and not getting the clutch in fast enough.
  11. And you have checked the clutch interlock switch?

  14. It is both standard and an option - let me explain. All Boxster's have the capability once it is "turned on" in the instrument cluster. To change the display you need to either add the OBC stalk (it goes beneath the turn signal stalk) or add a dash switch. Do a search here for OBC hack -- there is lots of info.

  18. ALL Cayenne radio systems are MOST (fiber optic) so - yes you would have to replace most everything.

  20. Yes, they will work all model year Cayennes - including 2nd gen MY08 and newer.
  21. Well, you can certainly cause damage if you jack at the wrong places - or if the jack slips. IMHO you are less likely to cause damage on a GT3 or TT engine than a Boxster/Carrera engine - because the case structures are quite different.
  22. Jeez... tell them to buy a hockey puck. I think you are ok if there are no further cracks on chips.
  23. It would be very rare to have a leaking RMS on a TT engine. The TT engine is a derivative of the 993/964 engine - not the M96 Boxster/Carrera engine.
