Center Console Lid Question

Hello again Loren, I just bought a 1999 996 and the center console lid is broken (as you have stated above). Please advise me on a repair. Most dealers in the US will give you 2 years on an RMS replacement.

No other toll that I am aware of except for a PIWIS tester. Even then Porsche requires special codes (IPAS) on a per car basis to change some things or add some options. What specifically do you want to change?

This is a pic of my head lights on my 996tt. Are these the Litronics with the fish eye looking lens? Yes, and all 996TT's have Bi-Xenon (like Litronic).

Front Boot/Trunk light stopped working

The microswitch is in the latch mechanism. So, you have to remove the latch, replace the switch and then realign the latch as you re-install. -
Normally, you remove the wheel well liner to access the washer tank.

:welcome: I think you are going to need to find someone with a Bosch Hammer or PST2 (with the older round connector) to find out what circuit is triggering the alarm.

Welcome, It used to be in the owners manual but was removed in 06 by Porsche. However the 05 manual is available for download for contributing members on here: 05 987 Owners Manual The pages you are after are from 185. You don't have to be a Contributing Member to download the Owners Manuals. -
997TT uses 997 part numbers.

ABS and Traction Light Problem

I would like to see the fault code(s). This can also be caused by a faulty brake light switch (easy to test - have someone observer if your brake lights come on when the pedal is depressed). It can also be caused by a bad MAF. The ABS controller would be the last thing I suspect (especially without codes).
