what prompted you to get a new top? to have the glass window? thanks.

My old cab had some ugly scratches marks, and my plastic window cracked when i was about to downcab (it was 13 celsius outside at the time)

looks very nice mate!

I was looking at a similar conversaion with a UK supplier/fitter. one of the the options was a yellow top and as my car is speed yellow I ws considering getting this done. havnt had any experience of light coloured sof tops tho so dont know how paractical it would be in all honesty?

simonpbs - i see. is it a safe conversion? do you have any info on it? i'd like to get the glass rear window as well, but dealer says it's a very difficult switch. did the dealer install for you?

:lightbulb:

Very very nice shots! The car looks great.

I am thinking that in the near future I will try to source a supplier to change my top with glass window instead of the plastic too.

Thanks guys for the compliments  :)

I'm also interested in one with the retrofited glass window for a 98. The plastic window folds in half, how does it work with the glass one? Can you show a picture with top in the service mode.

Simon, looks good. I assume yours is a '01 Lapis blue with a blue top? Any problem reusing the headliner? I understand the early models did not come with a headliner...I wonder if the owners culd update to a headliner when doing this conversion.

i am interested in the conversion as well but i heard going from plastic to glass requires a lot of effort. for those who have done this, are you doing it yourselves or through a dealer?

i understand that the whole mechanism is different

To fit an '03 OEM Porsche top on an '02 or earlier requires the frame to be replaced.

This is a glass windowed aftermarket top that fits on the regular frame used for the plastic windowed tops.
