If you have a MY99 car then there was only one finish It was called Granite Grey

You will need two parts:

996 552 096 01 D05 Shelf (this is the tray - D05 specifies the color)

996 552 596 00 Console Insert (rubber pad)

Is the plastic plug to fill in the lighter socket to finish off the non-smoker kit still available? The number if so? I spent a few minutes at my dealer browsing thru the PET system but didn't find it.

I was told it is no longer available (since the option is no longer available)... which means existing stock only for dealers. You might have to call around some to find one.

Thanks. I'll put a call in to my dealer's parts department Monday morning. Funny that the console ash tray replacement seems to be easy to come by (I bought 2 almost 2 years apart) but the plug wouldn't be.

My dealer didn't have any in stock but there's still inventory showing in Atlanta if anybody else was interested in finishing off the non-smoking appearance.

To follow up on my post about the "No Smoking" lighter plug now that I finally picked one up... You actually get a new socket as well as the plug. The plug with the "No Smoking" logo doesn't fit in the stock US lighter socket.

The dummy plug fits in the original lighter socket on my 1997 Boxster.  Something must have changed over the years.

Ditto. I did get the extra lighter socket, but It didn't seem to be needed.

I could swear it didn't want to fit in the original socket on my 2002 Boxster S but I can't re-test as that car now resides across the state. I'll try and find a recent vintage 986/996 to test (my GT3 isn't due until April) and will report back on if I was just to inept to install the plug.

The "No Smoking" lighter plug doesn't fit in the stock US lighter socket. Any ideas on how to make this work without changing the female receptacle?

Is it a big job to change the female receptacle?

Does the female part of the no-smoker plug have a light around the base? I don't like the way the light ring looks on the stock receptacle. It doesn't quite match the other lights around it.

Did you get your lighter to fit? Mine doen't have the ring. It's my understanding that the white ring is used to provide light to the dummy lightet. Go figure?

Fixed the problem:

I wasn't about to tackle changing the female receptacle, however, I took a rasp file and trimmed the dummy lighter to fit in the existing receptacle.

Looks good!
