Supercup lip

I am going to replace my lip (996 505 98600) on the GT3 spoiler with the supercup lip (see picture) and was in need on the part number.

Also, any pdf's or pics of one in use? The pic I attached is the best I could find (not that good).

I would try a 996 505 986 92 Spoiler Lip as used on the mk2 GT3 it looks pretty much the same as the Cup car spoiler which is 996 505 986 91. Anything that ends in 91 usualy must be ordered through Porsche MotorSports (and costs 5X).

You will also need 999 507 557 40 Plastic rivets to hold it on place (11 of them).

This is the spoiler on a Cup car - I think it looks a lot like the mk2 spoiler. It might wrap around the side a little more than the mk2 spoiler.

I think so. Someone was going to do that and report back here... but I never heard. Perhaps now you can... ;)

The rivets are the same size - the number of them is the same. So it's just whether the holes line up or not.

Then if the holes don't match up then you would think I could just drill new holes, correct?

If the curve matches the bumper (which I think it will). It's just soft plastic - I have a spare standard aerokit one in the garage and it's amazing how much money they want for bent piece of plastic. :lol:

So, did the mk2 front lip fit on your mk1 aerokit without the need to drill additional holes???

It fits great, but the holes have to be drilled and very simple to do. I have my car in the shop getting some work done and don't want to finsh the install till I get it back (next week).

I plan on posting pics, etc, when I get it done.

OK, so I finally got the lip installed. 1000X better aesthetically than the mk1 lip. I have attached some pics of the final result with the mk2 lip (supercup lip).

FYI....it is NOT a direct fit based on hole alignment except for the middle hole which is perfect so you can line it up perfectly centered. What I did was attach the lip to the GT3 bumper using the single hole that lines up (middle one) and held the rest of the lip on with painters tape.

Then I drilled holes into the GT3 bumper using the new lip as a guide utilizing the predrilled holes in the lip. I also used the screw holding on the brake duct and the end of each side of the lip for added stability. One last thing....I have to cut off about 1 inch after install was complete where it went past the bumper into the wheel well opening.

Total time from start to finish was under 1 hour.

probably not a good idea for me right now with my ride height in the weeds @ 5.5" adding the lip would put me at 4" (yikkes) - probably just go through them like popcorn

<edit> this is Raised by the way from when i got it by 0.5" as i was having some shock travel issues - hitting the bumpstops on the pss-9's </edit>

What did it cost you for the lip?

I lost my front lip in Bordeaux last week. Hit something in the road and it clean snapped in half and was left on the road.

Made the 2800 mile trip to Spain and back in one piece though ;)

Had great fun and car behaved itself perfectly. No oil used!!!

I paid about $195 for the lip (dealer cost plus 15% from Sunset). Rumor has it that TRG has one for about $125 that is the same but not Porsche OEM.

I really like the supercup lip better than the small lip that was on the original Mk1 spoiler.
