Cracks in my "boxster red" leather

:( I have a 99 C2 with 60k miles and I am begining to notice cracking in the leather on the driver's side seat panels near my left thigh & flank area. . .

I presume this is from the years getting in and out of the car. Lexol conditioner has done a wonderful job up until now but . . .

My question is with the boxster red leather:

Can anything be done? Touch up vs. new panels? and in your experience, what whould be the cost diference?

I think this is a pretty common problem. I know that my 996 has the same issue. Call the local dealer or just ask other local dealers who in your area does good vinyl / leather repair. I have had several scratches and cracks repaired and they come out perfectly ....

Also I've got the two standard seats (boxster red) from my '00 for sale. No wear/tear, if interested let me know.

Ah yes but how did they fix it...? Spray or new panels and what kind of costs am I looking at?

They use some kind of synthetic material that I think gets painted on. The person that I used made the repair, smoothed it out then airbrushed it. You cannot even tell. I had several repairs that took her all day and the total cost was near $275. If you get someone good ... it's worth it.

I got a quote today to have the two front seats "sprayed for" $400 total. I think I am going to shop around...

Make sure you pick someone good ... I have seen 'bad' work and it's worse than the cracking in the seats ....
