hi guys

my car is a boxster S 2000 model

the soft top light is always on and the top wont go down.

so after reading 100s of topics i checked all the following:

1- my handbrake sensor is working fine and i get the light in dashboard

2- when i unlock the top the windows go down halfway immediatly

3- i removed the double relay and tap it few times and then put it back again (did this step few times)

still does not work, but it makes a small clicking noise with few seconds interval when i press the button.

can anybody guide me how to manually open the top?

thanks

Could you describe the "small clicking noise" in more detail? Are you possibly hearing the electric motor under the clamshell spinning, but the inner cable(s) are not being spun because they have partially "retracted" inside the outer sheath(s)?

Posts #10 and 21 in the following thread should provide answers to all of your questions regarding manually lowering the top:

Not to beat a dead horse (or Porsche) lol, but I am also experiencing the same thing.....brake is on, unlatches, windows go down part way then when I push the button, I hear a clicking noise down by my feet (I assume it's the relay) but the clamshell wont open and there is no noise to indicate the motor is working........

Very frustrated because it has been BEAUTIFUL in sunny Las Vegas and I don't want to tear into it if the solution is something simple (i hope).

Any help is definitely appreciated
