I've got the air vents out and the rosette. The trim pieces (under the window) seem to be in there very snugly. I tried prying on them a bit but didn't want to break anything. What's the best way to get these puppies out and also the best way to get the new ones in. (pics please, if possible). Tnx :help:

Ray, when I did this in my coupe, I had to take off the side pillar trims before I took off the defroster vents. These pillar trims just unclip, but first you will need to take off the coat hooks by the seatbelts.

I dont think these are an issue in the boxster or cab. Am I right Jeff?

We did remove the A pillar trim because we were installing the auto dim mirror at the same time and you run wires down the A pillar. Not sure if you need to remove it for the defroster vent trim swap.

Hi,

the A-pillar trim needs to go, otherwise in gets scratched when you pull out the dash trim.

Incidentally, if it hasn't already been done, it is worthwhile sticking a bit of felt on the A-pillar where it touches the air vents and the dash trim. Makes the car a bit quieter.

I've got the 3 trim pieces (defroster + rosette) in AS to install. Nothing else. I'll see if I can do it w/o removing the A pillar (I have a Cab). If you do it first, let me know pls. :)

Would love to see pictures once it is done. I was contemplating doing the same thing with mine but was not sure if the AS would be too much in a black interior or I should do it in Basalt Black and have the side vents in Basalt Black too.

It is a shame you cannot get the side bents in black with AS slats (well thats what I was told anyway). I prefer that look over the full AS vent unit. Hopefully you will change my mind :)
