Replaced the air filter, oil change & filter, washed the motor, and even managed to replace the cracked oil separator.

Really thanks for the great resource that this list is!

The power steering fluid is low where do I buy the 'pentosin' (sp.?) or can I use another brand of PS fluid?

Use only Pentosin CHF 11S. It is synthetic. Older Porsche cars could used GM power steering fluid, but not our cars.

You can buy it on the net for less than what I paid. I have gone through 1 1/2 cans in the past few years because I have a leak in the power steering rack. I buy it from an import part place as it is also used by BMW. Last 1 liter can was $24. You only need a little unless you have a leak as the reservoir is small. A shot glass or 2 will top it up. I once asked by dealer how much they charged and I was suprised because it was in the same range or maybe less than what I pay.

This is my joke picture because I have to top it up every few months. The blue stuff is dye in water. Pentosin has a green color to it.

You can find pentosin at:

www.ecstuning.com

www.gprparts.com

Its fairly cheap at both of those. I believe the last litre jug cost me around $12or 13. Audi uses 11S in there p/s systems. Our A4 cooks the stuff , so I flush it when I change the oil on it. VW/Audi sells a 12 fl. oz. bottle of it (part# G 002 012) which is easy to pour into the res. for the Boxster. Good luck. :jump:

Tool Pants : Thanks to your post I just picked up the right stuff here in NJ for 18.95 at a local import parts/repair shop.

...the IV bottle was not included.
