I need to remove the faceplate from the FWL switch and the TT Spoiler switch (I am swapping them). Without breaking any tabs, etc., does anybody know how to remove/replace the covers?

**I am referring to the thin rocker switch covers that have the picture of the spoiler up/down and the light that looks like a sun**

Thanks,

Dell

Dell,

The faceplates with the switches just clip off.

Early models, the face plate is made up in sections so you can unclip

just the section you need. I think later models have a single

faceplate. Use a butter knife to prose the plate off but don't let the knife go in too far to short any switches.

Cheers,

If you mean the trim for the switches, this is a picture of a Boxster. Pre 2002 996 are the same except the trim is shaped a bit different. It is held in place with 2 plastic tabs. If you have long fingernails you can lift up on the trim. I use a thin blade.

Then there are 2 ways to remove the switches. From the back of the trim you insert a thin screwdriver and pop the switch out. From the front of the trim if you push hard enough on the oval button the switch will pop out the back.
