Painted Brake Calipers
It took me two days to paint my calipers red, two wheels at a time. They have held up better than expected over the last ten years, but they could probably use another coat of red paint to look like new again. · 10/29/2009 -
Air Horn
I installed a compact 139bd Air Horn after a close call with a 16-wheeler. Installation requires removing the front bumper, and splicing into the black/yellow horn wire, and routing a power wire to the battery, and a ground inside the front trunk. It's a tight fit with a third radiator. · 08/01/2009 -
Garage Switch
I hardwired by garage door opener to a 996TT Targa switch, installed in my batwing. The switch also has night illumination. · 08/01/2009 -
Batwing Decal
This was originall a 5" silver vinyl 'PORSCHE" decal, however when I updated to the 2-switch batwing, I went with a silver 2.5" "986" decal. · 07/27/2009 -
17" 911 Ten Spoke Rims
These rims look great, they completely change the look of the car and I could not be happier with them. · 07/13/2009 -
Porsche Nose and Mirror Bra
I got this from another forum member for the price of shipping. But I did not get the lower bumper cover, just the hood and side mirror covers. Make sure you don't get dirt on the carpeted underside, it's a pain to clean. · 06/15/2008 -
BK Mount w/ 2.5lb. Halon Fire Extinguisher
I lucked out and snagged a halon extinguisher and BK mount used on eBay. I was looking for halon after I had a dry chemical fire extinguisher accidentally go off in my front trunk (the nozzle unscrewed), I still find bits of white powder in the trunk almost a decade later. · 06/15/2008 -
Rear Speaker Kit (OEM)
I installed the OEM Porsche rear speaker to replace the useless cubbies in my storage box. For $130, this is a great addition to the Boxster. It does not cause a dramatic difference in the sound quality, but helps create a "fuller" sound. · 06/15/2008 -
Intermittent Wiper Switch Mod
Once I figured out the wiring, this is a simple mod that gets rid of another dash switch. · 05/03/2008 -
US Spec Cigarette Lighter
I did this to get the US spec cigarette lighter which works much better with all my car accessories, namely my cell phone charger. I spent about two hours trying to get the old lighter out of the dash, and it ended up being more trouble than it was worth. · 05/03/2008
