  4. Porsche stopped producing "paper" manuals in 2006. Service manuals are now only available in PIWIS. Everything is available on the PIWIS system,or by subscription, but are not inexpensive ($18,000 per year) . Most of the aftermarket manuals are pretty useless.
  5. Hello Everyone! First time here. Hoping to encounter a warm, friendly community! Experienced VW/Audi rebuilder, here. I've got me a Panamera S E-Hybrid (970) with a supercharged V6 engine that has a rod knock that I'm looking to rebuild right away. QUESTION: Does anyone have access (or knows where I can get them) to the engine service manuals for this bad boy I could use? I reached out to Porsche and they protect those manuals like state secret. Apparently, this is a VW/Audi engine but my hang-up is with the hybrid aspect of it. No lift available, mind you... So, with that in mind, I was told that I had ZERO chance of removing this baby from the top due to the Engine/E motor/Transmission being all together and because of that, subframe drop is the only way to go. Someone else said that I could remove the bumper/front end of the car and pull the engine and all else frontwards without the need of a lift. Just to elevate the car on jack stands and that it'll work. Audi has the Erwin website for service manuals. Is there something like that for Porsche? Really would like that service manual or perhaps a Q&A with a tech here in the RennTech community... I'd be so indebted to you! Anyhow, looking for the engine service manual and some support from the community. I'd love to document it all and post it here for the community. Can anyone assist? Thanks so much, Maayan-

  10. Your radio is made by Becker. This model requires the PIN code once unplugged. Look in your Owner's Manual pouch it should be a credit card-size Becker card with a 4-digit PIN or if a prev. owner has written it somewhere. If you got your pup from an individual and not a dealership/resellers you can call the person and ask if he remembers the PIN for the radio? Alternate option you can pull the ratio out and there is a sticker with a serial number. Check on eBay if there is a service to pull the Becker PIN by the S/N. It used to be a girl some time ago she was pulling it like in 5' for $30 or so. Once you entered an incorrect PIN, you need to WAIT for 10'. I think it's 10, not 30.
  11. Hi Loren, I am hoping you can help with a radio code for my 2002 996.2 C4s. The radio is a Becker CDR-220 Model #4462 Serial #15002040 Thanks for any help you can provide!
  12. A waste of money IMHO. There are much much better aftermarket kits that much better for less money.
  13. From the Lost Radio Code FAQ... "I get a WAIT on the display - what do I do? You have to wait at least 30 minutes before trying again."
  14. You didn't read the Lost Radio Code FAQ... "Can you give me a code for my PCM? These units are manufactured jointly by Siemens and Becker, and the only place where you can get the codes required is from the dealer/OPC. The PCM’s require two codes, the ICS/Siemens code, and a Becker code. The ICS is the first code requested. Sorry, the only place you can get a PCM code is from a dealer/OPC."
  15. Can anybody confirm - I've read elsewhere that chime sound for unfastened driver seat belt they implemented in MY04 996.2 going forward. On my MY03 there is no any chime sound when I don't plug or unplug the driver seat belt, it only lits up the red warning light on the dash. I have the chime going off for the speed limit set thus it is there and it is in the working order.
  16. When I raise my soft top on my 2000 Porsche 911 996 Carerra Cabriolet, the back windows stopped closing. How to fix. Thanks for any suggestions.
  17. I just purchased a Porsche 2000 911 996 Manual Cabriolet and when the battery was changed, my radio screen asked for a code and then said WAIT. How do i fix this to get my radio working again?
  18. Local dealer couldn't find code with VIN. Can some help me with radio + nav? Becker BE 2580 4514xxxx Siemens PO815016xxxx
  19. For a 2002 Porsche Boxster S, the fuel pressure at the rail should be around 3.3 to 3.8 bar (47.9 to 55.1 PSI), and the fuel delivery rate should be around 850 cubic centimeters (cc) in 30 seconds. The test port is on the passenger side fuel rail, under cap #7 you will find a Schrader valve :
  20. Back 30 years ago, I got a speeding ticket and could get a reduced fine if I took the car and had the speedometer calibrated. I did. It was spot on, of course. The problem was my right foot. No speeding tickets since. Find a shop that sets Porsches up for racing to do your suspension analysis. I did and it made all the difference.
  21. I think I know what happened here! I piggybacked the original poster, Andrew Howell, and he was getting the "immobilizer not ready" warning! I think we are back on track here! As in the quote that I have attached reads, you initially suggested that I check the fuel pressure and delivery rates. It went a different direction when you thought there was something in the tachometer being off and that's where the CPS fix came into to play. I understand your mixup because your tending to a lot of different threads. Moving forward. I did purchase a fuel pressure kit. Where is the fuel pressure rail? What readings should I be getting for the fuel pressure and delivery rates? I have never performed this test before. All new stuff for me, but rewarding and going through the steps. By the way, I just donated again. I do appreciate you, JFP and this site!
  22. Many auto parts stores will use a reader on your car for free. Really need to know the fault code(s).
  23. Have you tested the car for fuel pressure and delivery using the test port on the fuel rail? If it has full pressure and delivery rates, the answer would be "no". And, as noted from your first post, you got an "immobilizer not ready" warning..............
  24. The car did fire up then died when I used starter fluid. Doesn't this suggest it's a fuel delivery issue?
  25. If the immobilizer is dead, the car will aimlessly turn over and never start; it is your anti theft system. The most common reason these things fail is moisture, but we have seen them with burnt circuit boards as well. Take the box out, open it and look, only then you will know if it can be excluded. And yes, it would be expensive as the part is pricey to begin with and you need access to a PIWIS system to code it to the car.
